Website refresh for Wiltshire based Faux Books company

Original Book Works produce beautifully hand-crafted faux book products and panels, carefully moulded from genuine old books. Each timeless classic is painted, gilded and finished by hand.

Their extensive range of traditional faux book panels, with classics including Shakespeare, Dickens and Ruskin, are used to create wall features, hide unsightly articles, and even create secret doorways.

With an impressive customer base, their work has featured in hotels, museums, restaurants and private homes.

Website Design and Development

The Faux Books website had become out of date and difficult to use, plus it didn’t truly celebrate the many beautiful projects that Original Book Works had created.

After redesigning the faux books product brochure, we looked to refresh the website with a complimentary design that demonstrates the impressive visual impact created by the faux book panels.

With the help of photo galleries and social media feeds, we created a modern website with hints of tradition and timeless qualities.

Hillier Funeral Service has a proud tradition of providing funeral care to the families of Swindon and the surrounding areas for four generations.

With an expanding range of services available, they were looking to refresh their existing website to both promote their uniquely tailored funerals and add some new functionalities.

With three branches serving Swindon and surrounding villages, Hillier Funeral Service are proud to be one of Swindon’s oldest family businesses. Their experienced staff are dedicated to carrying out a personalised service to meet the individual wishes of each family.

Website Refresh

Hillier Funeral Service were looking to modernise their existing website, whilst adding a directory of funerals and obituaries. This new feature gives family and friends the ability to write personal messages of condolence, as well as find information about flower and donation wishes.

Families are also able to add charity donation links from obituary pages, giving friends the chance to contribute towards the favoured causes of their loved ones.

Furthermore, guests can opt to ‘Light a Candle’ when writing their personal messages in the online book of condolence, adding a further touch of tradition and ritual.

The English Iris Company champion the British Tall Bearded Iris and offer an exciting but exclusive range of top quality plants, many never previously available.

Their irises are developed from prize-winning stock and selected by experts renowned for their rigour and lack of compromise in their search for the perfect iris.

With new varieties released each year, they needed an online store that was easy to manage and update.

eCommerce Website

We created an online store to showcase the full range of Tall Bearded Irises bred by the English Iris Company.

Products were grouped by colour: ‘Hots’, ‘Cools’ and ‘Softs’ to show how different colours can be mixed together to create a display. ‘Scented’ irises were also highlighted within the shop, alongside the ability to browse by Bloom Period.

The website also provided useful resources for customers and gardeners, including planting and care information, iris advice and an event calendar.

With special features on Gardeners’ World, exhibits at Chelsea Flower Show and Open Garden events, a News section has also been a useful way of keeping customers and fans up-to-date.

A New Chapter
for Educational Books

UK and US Online Stores for Phonic Books

Based in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, Phonic Books create award winning decodable books for beginner and catch-up readers, widely used by schools, tutors and parents in the UK and 40 countries around the world.

Providing an online store would not only help their customers easily browse and purchase products worldwide, it would also encourage the business to continue grow.

The website would also provide both teachers and parents with a variety of useful advice and resources to be used alongside their books.

eCommerce Website

We created an online catalogue and store of the full Phonic Books product range, including books, games and workbooks.

Products were carefully categorised into groups, allowing customers to browse items via reading level and age. Each series was then grouped together with their associated workbooks and supporting materials, allowing the correct phonic progression to be followed.

Two websites were created; one for UK and European customers, and the other for the US, with each site allowing Phonic Books to easily manage stock, sales and promotions.

A blog and MailChimp newsletter signup form were also added to the site, allowing for announcements, customer engagement and competitions.

We were therefore in need of a complete overhaul, with the main aim of creating a clean, appealing look and an effortless user journey. Striking ecommerce website for Compost Producer

Mr Crapper’s Potting Shed is a family run compost producing business, making their product from recycled green material on their farm in Wiltshire.

They came to us with an existing brand, which we wanted to emphasise and continue to tell the story of Mr Crapper’s secret blends of compost being passed down through the generations.

Alongside their compost, Mr Crapper also provide products including Playbark and Turf, as well as a Waste Collection service.

eCommerce Website

We created an eye-catching and memorable website design that encapsulated the notion of the everyday gardener enjoying the outdoors and using Mr Crapper’s compost to help their gardens to grow.

Products are presented in a clean and easy to use ecommerce store, allowing Mr Crapper to manage products, sales and promotions.

We also designed a logo for Mr Crapper’s Waste Collection service, as well as vehicle livery for their company car.

Furthermore, we were delighted to work with the Crapper family on a website for their sister company, Crapper and Sons, a recycling and landfill centre based in Royal Wootton Bassett.

Wendy Stallard, a pioneer and leading practitioner of permanent makeup treatments founded Cosmetic Enhancements in 2006 and was looking to steer her brand towards a more personal route, becoming the face of the business.

With over 25 years working in the beauty industry, it was important for the brand to reflect Wendy’s professionalism and experience, but also to demonstrate her modern approach and advanced treatments.

Brand Identity

We worked with Wendy to produce a modern, clean and timeless design, mixing traditional lettering and modern graphics in a sleek and fresh logo.

We also designed the company business cards, stationery, social media branding, whilst also developing a new website to bring the new look and feel together.

Other than her own premises in Marlborough, Wendy works with a number of clinics across London and the South West, and has been featured in several beauty publications including Tatler’s article on “How to get the best brows in the country”.

Sharpes Windows and Doors are a family run double glazing specialist based in Sherston, Wiltshire. With over 15 years industry experience spanning sales, manufacturing and installation, they needed a contemporary brand and coherent website.

As the business had been built on recommendation and referrals, it was important that the look and feel of both the brand and website reflected their excellent reputation and high standards.

Website Design and Build

We created a bright and clean logo using modern lines and shapes. The handwritten style of the strap line added a friendly and approachable feel to the brand, touching on their personal service and craftsmanship.

With a broad range of products and variations ranging from Heritage Windows to Fascias and Guttering, it was important for the catalogue and categories to be clearly listed on the website alongside any associated resources such as product catalogues, colour options, locks and fixtures.

Product variations and fittings are displayed in galleries on each product page, allowing customers to easily browse the many available options.

Email Marketing for Wotton Concert Series

Based in the picturesque Cotswold town of Wotton-under-Edge the Wotton Concert Series brings a range of world class orchestral, choral and chamber music to South Gloucestershire.

Having established itself as a regular event in the South West, Wotton Concert Series were looking to create and manage email campaigns to help advertise their forthcoming concerts.

With three tiers of membership available, Wotton Concert Series also needed the ability to view which newsletter subscribers were “Friends of Wotton Concert Series”.

Email Marketing

We created a branded email marketing template for Wotton Concert Series in MailChimp, allowing them to build quick and easy newsletters, automate campaigns, manage subscribers and analyse customer responses.

We also worked with Wotton Concert Series to design and develop their website.

Founded by a timpanist from the Academy of Ancient Music, the Series adds to the cultural life of the Gloucestershire, enabling gifted young performers to share a platform with established artists of international standing.
